‘Khan’tastic end to 56 Idea Filmfare Awards

The Khan was the King at the 56 Idea FilmFare Awards held last night. SRK proved his supremacy by proudly holding the black lady as the best actor for the eight time, Kajol won the best actress for ‘My Name Is Khan’ and Karan Johar received the honour for the best director after 12 years since 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'.

King Khan made the night ‘Khan’ tastic when the King of romance dressed in a black pathani wooed the gorgeous Madhuri in baby pink lehanga choli on stage, Kareena and Priyanka’s sizzled with their act and the Band Baaja Jodi of Anushka and Ranveer pumped up the volume on stage.

The black beauty kept her share of smile for ‘Dabangg’ as Salman Khan acted movie emerged winner in the best film category.

The awards proved that small is beautiful which saw the small fish hunting the maximum where Udaan, Do Dooni Chaar, Ishqiya, Love Sex Aur Dhoka winning awards.

Host Imran and Ranbir were at their funny best entertaining the audience at the star studded awards night that went past midnight. The best was Imran playing Salman and Ranbir playing Shahrukh.

SPECIAL AWARDS

Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Chopra presented the iconic Big B an award for completing 40 years in the film industry.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan presented Madhuri Dixit Nene an award for completing 25 years in the film industry.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Prabodh Chandra Dey popularly known in Bollywood as Manna Dey was felicitated with one of the most prestigious award of the night - the Lifetime Achievement award. This is his second Filmfare trophy. He won his first Filmfare Award in 1970 for singing the song 'Ae Bhai Zara Dekh Ke Chalo' from Mera Naam Joker.

The 90 year old singer Manna Dey couldn't attend the function and so Vidya Balan went to his house to present him the award.

Best Song Composer : Lalit Pandit who composed the song "Munni Badnam Hui"

Best Lyrics: Gulzar won the Best Lyrics Award for the song "Ibn-e-Batuta" (Ishqiya).

RD Burman Award for Upcoming Talent in the Field of Music: Sneha Khanwalkar for 'Love Sex aur Dhokha'

Best Playback Singer (Male): Rahat Fateh Ali Khan won Best Playback Singer (Male) for "Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji" (Ishqiya)

Best Playback Singer (Female): was shared between Mamta Sharma for 'Munni Badnaam Hui' (Dabangg) and Sunidhi Chauhan for "Sheila Ki Jawani" (Tees Maar Khan)
